METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — Plaquemines Parish deputies say they confiscated nearly 200 pounds of cocaine on Thursday, but at this point they’re not ready to release where they found the drugs.
Deputies estimate the street value of the drugs at $18 million!
It is the largest cocaine seizure ever in Plaquemines Parish, according to Sheriff Lonnie Greco said in a news release.
Deputies said an anonymous tip led them to four suspicious packages. Inside the packages, they found 81 individual, one-kilogram packages. Deputies say that tests show the contents to be pure cocaine.
No information on arrests or other details was released citing the pending investigation.
