NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) -- New Orleans police released photos of a car that they believe was involved in a deadly hit-and-run accident.  They also say the victim's body may have been dragged from the initial crash scene in the French Quarter to Algiers on the west bank.

The body was discovered New Year's Day morning along Highway 90 at the General de Gaulle exit.  Police say they have witnesses who saw a black four-door sedan hit the victim at the corner of Decatur and Dumaine streets in the French Quarter at about 3 a.m.

Police say they have identified the victim and are in the process of notifying family members.

But they have not been able to locate the car or driver involved.
